What you can ask
- Describe a scene, a chart or a diagram, and pick out details you might miss.
- Name a plant, bird, insect, dish or object roughly, and say how sure it is.
- Read a screenshot: an error message, a confusing settings page, a bill or a group chat you want a second opinion on.
- Explain a label, a sign, a warning symbol or a car dashboard light.
- Compare two photos you attach together, such as two paint colours on a wall.
Identification is a best guess from one picture. For plants, insects and mushrooms in particular, confirm with a local guide or expert before you eat, touch or treat anything.
Feedback and ideas
A photo gives AlgoChat the detail a text description leaves out. Ask for honest feedback on an outfit, a haircut you are considering, a tattoo design sketch, a living room layout or a cake you decorated. The more context you give, the better. "Job interview at a bank" or "small rented flat, cannot paint the walls" changes the advice a lot.
Ask what to change as well as whether it looks good. "What one change would help most?" gets a clear, usable answer. You can also ask for a few directions, such as three hairstyles that suit this face shape, then pick one to discuss further.
It reads images. It does not make them.
AlgoChat cannot generate images, edit your photo, remove a background, change your hair colour in the picture or show you a mockup of a redesigned room. If you ask, it will say so plainly. Some replies show cards for image apps that can do those jobs.
What it can do is help you get a good result from those apps. Ask it to write a detailed prompt based on your photo, for example "write an image prompt for this room redone in Japandi style, keeping the window and floor." Paste that into the image app of your choice.
Use care with people and health
Do not use it to find out who a stranger is from their photo. Guessing at identities is unreliable and can hurt someone. Feedback on your own photos, such as style or lighting, is fine.
For a rash, a mole, a wound or a medical scan, AlgoChat can describe what it sees and help you write questions for a doctor. It cannot diagnose from a photo. If something is changing fast, painful or worrying, see a doctor, and for an emergency call your local emergency number.
Questions
Can AlgoChat edit or generate images?
No. It can only look at images you send. It will help you write a prompt for an image app if you want a picture made or changed.
How accurate is plant or object identification?
Often close for common things, less reliable for rare species or lookalikes. It will tell you how confident it is. Never eat a plant or mushroom based on an AI guess.
Can it read text in a photo?
Yes, including signs, menus, labels and screenshots in many languages. It can translate the text too.
Can I send more than one photo?
Yes. Attach several in one message to compare them, or show something from different angles.
What happens to my photos?
Photos stay with the chat in your browser. AlgoChat keeps them to provide your history and does not sell them. The privacy policy at algochat.app/privacy has the details.
