An AI email writer for the emails you keep putting off

Some emails take two minutes to send and two days to start. Asking a teacher for an extension, telling a landlord the heater is still broken, chasing someone who never replied. AlgoChat writes a first draft from a few lines about your situation, then rewrites it until it sounds like you.

It is free and runs in your browser with no account. You copy the finished draft into your own email app and send it from there. AlgoChat cannot send email for you, and it never sees your inbox.

Try one of these

What to tell it

A good email draft needs four facts. Give these and the first version is usually close:

  • Who it is going to and how well you know them. "My manager, fairly casual" and "a professor I have never met" produce very different emails.
  • What happened, with dates. "I reported the leak on 2 March" beats "a while ago".
  • What you want them to do. A reply, a repair date, a meeting, a yes or no.
  • Any limit on length or tone. "Under 100 words" or "no exclamation marks" both work.

If you are replying, paste the whole thread or attach a screenshot of it. The draft can then answer the points the other person actually raised and match how formal they were.

Emails people ask for most

  • Extension requests to a teacher or lecturer. State the reason once, offer a new date, and attach evidence if you have it. Check your school's rules first, since some courses only accept requests through a form.
  • Complaints to a company or landlord. Stick to facts and dates, say what you have already tried, and ask for one specific fix by a specific day.
  • Follow-ups after an interview, an application or an unanswered question. Short, one reminder of context, one clear ask.
  • Resignations. Name your last day, thank them briefly, offer to help with the handover. You do not owe a long explanation.
  • Cold outreach for jobs, internships or collaborations. Say who you are in one line and why them, then make a small ask that is easy to say yes to.

Getting the tone right

Tone is where most people get stuck, and it is the easiest thing to fix in a chat. After the first draft, reply with plain instructions such as "warmer", "more formal", "less apologetic" or "make it sound like I am annoyed but still polite". The chat keeps the context, so it edits the same email rather than starting again.

If you write in a second language, ask it to keep your meaning and only fix grammar and phrasing. You can also write your notes in your own language and ask for the email in English.

Check before you send

AI drafts read smoothly, which makes mistakes easy to miss. Read the draft once with these in mind. Are the names spelled correctly, and is it the right Ms or Mr? Are the dates, amounts and reference numbers exactly what you gave it? Did it promise anything you did not agree to, like "I will have it done by Friday"? Fix those by hand or ask for a corrected version.

Then read it out loud. If a sentence is one you would never say, cut it. A slightly plain email that sounds like you is better than a polished one that sounds like a template.

Questions

Can AlgoChat send the email for me?

No. It writes the draft in the chat. You copy it into Gmail, Outlook or whatever app you use and send it yourself. It cannot read your inbox either.

Can it reply to an email I received?

Yes. Paste the email or attach a screenshot, then say what you want to reply. The draft will respond to what they actually wrote.

Will my teacher or boss know AI wrote it?

A draft built from vague notes reads like a template. Give real details, ask for a plainer tone, and edit a line or two in your own words. For school work, check whether your teacher has rules on AI use.

Does it work in other languages?

Yes. Write to it in your language and it replies in the same one, or ask for the email in a different language than your notes.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no paid tier and no sign-up. Some replies may show recommendation cards for other apps, which is how AlgoChat stays free.
